I’m Loryn Duke, and I’m Running for City Council

After nearly 20 years calling Steamboat Springs home, I'm choosing a new path—not to slow down, but to step up for our community.

I'm running to protect what makes Steamboat Springs truly special while building a brighter, more sustainable future for my daughter, her friends, and every family and neighbor who has been impacted by the challenges facing our town.

Our community deserves leadership that understands both our unique character and our pressing needs. Together, we can address the critical issues that matter most to the people who make Steamboat Springs home.

I'm a mom, a wife, and a community builder with a deep family history in Steamboat Springs. I've chosen to build my life here because this place truly can't be replicated anywhere else.

Through my work expanding childcare access with Moms on a Mission and serving as an active board member with local organizations, I've experienced firsthand how collaboration creates real change and why thoughtful leadership matters.

Now I'm ready to bring that same dedication to all of Steamboat Springs—working to preserve what makes our town irreplaceable while thoughtfully preparing for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

My Roots:

I’m a mom — and moms know how to get things done.

After 18 years in this valley, I’ve lived through the issues that are impacting you. I’ve seen friends and family move away because they can’t find housing, have no access to child care, and can’t easily/safely navigate our town.

During my time here, I’ve heard these same issues come up time and time again. We can’t afford to keep kicking the can down the road on housing, child care, transportation, and sustainability. These are everyday issues that impact us all, and they demand action now.

I’ve spent my career working with people who don’t always agree, but who share the same goal: finding solutions. That’s the approach I’ll bring to City Council.

I want to be part of tangible, common-sense actions that make the future of our community better—for you, for your family, and for mine.
